July, 2001. The group started hiking from the Mizugaki trailhead at 7:30 a.m. Most of the hike was shaded by trees. The hike rates about medium to difficult with some spots even having ropes to help climbers up the steaper portions.

Now and then the trail offered opening like this one. So we took advantage of this and took a few breaks to get the group back together and to take is some of the amazing views.

There were a few water sources the last being about the 1/2 way point at the Dainichikoya mountain hut.

Later some of the group did a little scrambling. Not surprisingly, this was the same portion of the group that celebrated with beers. I continued with my after-lunch nap being in no mood for a solo rescue effort.
